The BCC thanks TK Maxx in Galashiels for choosing us as their Charity for 2018.  We are grateful for your enthusiasm and support.

A local company with holiday cottages throughout the Scottish Borders, Northumberland and East Lothian.  Thank you for your generous gift, made by donating for every booking you took throughout December 2017.

The BCC was first given a fundraising stand at the Hendersyde Park Horse Trials in 2014. Since then the organisation has donated significant amounts to the Borders Children's Charity on an annual basis. An enormous thank you to the Agnew family and all the helpers at Hendersyde for supporting the charity. This is a wonderful day out for horse lovers in a great location.

In recent years the Humanist Society of Scotland has made a number of generous donations to the Borders Children's Charity. We would like to thank them for their ongoing support of the charity.

The Borders Children's Charity often provides funding for beds, furniture and carpets for children's rooms.  Chrystie's of Hawick have been supplying quality items at very reasonable rates over the years. They continue to support our charity by providing quotes and delivering these goods throughout the Borders at competitive prices.  We are proud to "shop locally" too.

The Scottish Property Industry Festival of Christmas made an extremely generous donation to the BCC on the basis of donations received during its 2015 celebrations. This considerable sum goes towards the provision of beds, bedding and bedroom furniture for children who are in need across the Scottish Borders.

Marks and Spencer, Galashiels

The BCC was named as the nominated charity for the Galashiels branch of Marks and Spencers for 2016/17. This was a tremendous opportunity for the charity and has raised significant funds. The Roxburghe Hotel and Golf Course

The Roxburghe Hotel and Golf Course near Kelso held a number of golf days in support of the Borders Children's Charity.

2013 saw contributions to the Borders Children's Charity from a wide range of fundraising from across the Scottish Borders.

We were honoured that a number of organisations have chosen to support the Borders Children's Charity for a second or third year running. These include The Roxburghe Hotel and Golf Course, the Border's Book Festival, the Arty Farty Fare, Mainetti and also Decoupage and Dining, Itzy Bitzy, Jeanie Bags and Sen. Fundraising events ranged from open house Christmas fairs to golf days, treasure hunts and collections at events. We would like to thank these and other contributors for their ongoing support.

A number of new contributors have also got involved with the charity, ranging from individuals to small businesses and corporate entities. Amongst these were David Matthews, a local adventurer who flew the flag for the BCC 18,000 ft up Mount Everest. Closer to home, and to the ground, other energetic efforts have included reels parties, fun runs and other athletic endeavours.

St Mary's School, Melrose named the BCC as its nominated charity and has supported it through a series of events throughout 2013, ranging from plays to historic talks. A big thank you to all the staff and pupils who have supported us this year. Other schools to offer support include Priorsford Primary School in Peebles and Newcastleton Primary School.

Over Christmas a number of churches donated collections to the BCC including Oxnam Church and Caddonfoot Parish Church.

A massive thank you to these and all our other supporters over the year and moving forwards into 2014!

The Borders is a region that has been hit hard in the economic down turn. Yet amazingly in these tough times local Borderers are still generously giving their creative ideas, time and hard earned cash to support the Borders Children’s Charity.

From Richard Moore cycling one of the toughest stages of the Tour de France raising over £2,000, Clare Brownlow and Cindy Webster’s Arty Farty Fayre raising £470 to Decoupage & Dining, Itzy Bitzy, Sen & Jeanie Bags Open House raising £373, Christopher Godfrey-Faussett’s Mad Hat Challenge running over 350 miles from south to north of Scotland raising a staggering £6,200, Corney & Barrow’s Wine Man’s Bluff night raising £2,081 and The Roxburghe Hotel & Golf Course Charity Golf Day raising over £2,653. These are just to name a few of the amazing efforts by local Borders people and businesses.

Cindy of Cindy Webster Cooks Ltd said, “The fact I knew that 99.9% of every penny we raised would go directly to helping Borders children made it an easy choice to support the BCC at our Fayre. And we had such amazing feedback from our customers that we’re keen to do it again next year.”

The Borders Book Festival has also recently announced they have selected the BCC as their chosen charity for the next two years. Festival organizer Paula Ogilvie said, “It was a real find for us to have involved the BCC for the first time this year. We not only loved the idea that the voluntary committee can guarantee 99.9% of all money raised goes straight to local children, but the fact they actually allocate to money to the children as well. They absolutely know where every penny raised goes.”

Since March 2011 the BCC has raised over £21,000, enabling it to allocate 36 beds, 11 wardrobes, 19 chests of drawers, 51 school trips, 15 pairs of shoes, 20 contributions towards family holidays, activities and days out for 195 children, 75 books for young carers for Christmas, £1,545 worth of clothing and 26 sets of bedding – just to name some!

A huge thank you to everyone that has given the BCC such fantastic support over the last year. You have helped improve and change over 440 local children’s lives!
