The BCC would like to thank the following companies and organisations for their support:
HENDERSYDE HORSE TRIALS
The BCC was first given a fundraising stand at the Hendersyde Park Horse Trials in 2014. Since then the organisation has donated significant amounts to the Borders Children's Charity on an annual basis. An enormous thank you to the Agnew family and all the helpers at Hendersyde for supporting the charity. This is a wonderful day out for horse lovers in a great location.
MARKS AND SPENCERS, GALASHIELS
This year Marks and Spencers in Galashiels has named the Borders Children's Charity as its nominated charity. The store has given extremely generous donations, had a collecting tin in its staff room and recently allowed the BCC to bag pack to raise funds. More fundraising and work for the charity will be undertaken as the year goes on.
THE HUMANIST SOCIETY OF SCOTLAND
In recent years the Humanist Society of Scotland has made a number of generous donations to the Borders Children's Charity. We would like to thank them for their ongoing support of the charity.
CHRYSTIE'S OF HAWICK
The Borders Childrens Charity often provides funding for beds, furniture and carpets for children's rooms. Chrystie's of Hawick have been supplying quality items at very reasonable rates over the years. They continue to support our charity by providing quotes and delivering these goods throughout the Borders at competitive prices. We are proud to "shop locally" too.
The Scottish Property Industry Festival of Christmas has made an extremely generous donation to the BCC on the basis of donations received during its 2015 celebrations. This considerable sum will be used to provide beds, bedding and bedroom furniture for children who are in need of this across the Scottish Borders.
Costa Coffee, Peebles
Costa Coffee has nominated the BCC as its named charity for March 2016 and will host a collecting tin on the counter. It has also provided gifts for use in the raffle at the Scottish Borders Art Fair.
Scottish Borders Art Fair
The Borders Children's Charity has now been invited to fundraise at the Scottish Borders Art Fair at Springwood Park, Kelso for three consecutive years. This is a wonderful event showcasing the wealth of artistic talent around the Scottish Borders. Last year we held a paintbrush tombola and silent auction. This year we plan to sell CD-sized art works by a wide variety of artists. The paintbrush tombola may also return by popular demand! A very big thank you to the organisers and the generous local artists who have contributed.
The Macdonald Cardrona Hotel, Peebles
In recent years Macdonald Cardrona has supported the BCC in numerous ways; whether providing a venue for the Bustle Vintage Fashion Show in aid of the BCC, giving donations from raffles and collections following events or providing raffle prizes. Christmas 2015 saw a significant sum raised from raffles held at the hotel's Christmas party nights. Many thanks to all of the staff, management and guests for their wonderful contributions.
The Berwickshire Hunt
A donation from this year's Berwickshire Hunt auction is to be given to the Borders Children's Charity. We would like to offer a massive thank you to the committee and all involved in the auction for promoting the work of the Borders Children's Charity in their mail-out and for their donation from the evening.
This year the BCC was involved with helping with Presents Galore in Springwood Park in Kelso. BCC committee members manned the cake stand – with representatives of Marie Curie and the Injured Jockeys Club – and assisted the Presents Galore committee on the day. A huge thank you to everybody who attended the event, the stallholders and to the Presents Galore team for supporting the BCC.
Minto Golf Club
Minto Golf Club named the Borders Children's Charity as a nominated charity for 2015. A number of donations have been made following competitions taking place at the club. Many thanks to the team at Minto Golf Club for their ongoing support.
Tara Grey Photography
Huge thanks to Tara Grey Photography for supporting the BCC in so many ways – from donations from private view events, taking a stall at the Downton Abbey fundraiser, to holding a Christmas fair, to creating BCC cupcakes, to taking photographs for the BCC to celebrate our 50th anniversary!
